15 May Forest Lake Ward Councillor Charles Strunk Update
Since the beginning of 2017 a priority for Councillor Charles Strunk has been upgrading playground equipment in the various parks in the Forest Lake ward.
“There is more equipment in the parks to try and cater for the needs of the community in the Forest Lake ward,” said Cr Strunk. “We have upgraded the all-abilities park, with the pirate ship being particular popular.”
An exciting initiative that has been gaining interest from community members is the Forest Lake Community Markets which are held on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
“The Community markets are held in the car park area of Forest Lake State High School and kicked off a few months ago with about 60 stalls,” said Cr Strunk.
In addition to supporting the Forest Lake Community Markets, Cr Strunk has been continuing to pioneer the litter clean-up group and attended events such as school Leadership Assemblies.
Cr Strunk is excited to remind Hampstead Heath Community Members that residents will be able to benefit from the revitalisation of the Oxley Creek Catchment, which is only a few minutes drive from Hampstead Heath!
“We’ve started the pre-liminary for this development which will be a large recreational space for the local community, and I’m looking forward to residents being able to see this come together,” said Cr Strunk.
