Located on the edge of the leafy, lake reserve in Forest Lake is Simple Bliss Coffee. Here, residents will find a small coffee shop with an exceptional view, excellent coffee, simple but sensational treats and friendly service.
Astrid Liebermann is the owner of the café and is also a former Forest Lake resident.
“I walk my dogs around the lake everyday,” says Astrid.
“I used to look up at the deck and think ‘one day I’m going to open up a coffee shop there’ and now it’s happened!”
The coffee shop has grown a loyal local following since launching in 2015, and will celebrate its second official year in July.
Astrid says a commitment to offering residents a unique experience as well as working with local suppliers has been central in the success of Simple Bliss Coffee.
Simple Bliss Coffee uses local Woolloongabba coffee roasters Black Sheep Coffee, sources sweet treats from passionate local resident and baker JoJo’s Treathouse. Preservative-free savoury options are provided by Sol Breads and popular choice Maleny Dairies is used for milk.
“We are a passionate and friendly team that is proud to boast that we are locally owned and green aware,” says Astrid.
Astrid came up with the name “Simple Bliss Coffee” as she wanted to describe what the coffee shop would be…something that was an open, welcoming space that enhanced the everyday.
“Providing good coffee, delicious treats and a beautiful spot to rest are all simple ways to add some bliss to people’s days,” says Astrid.
Astrid says that her favourite part of owning Simple Bliss is being able to brighten customer’s days by providing them with good company and coffee.
“Being able to brighten someone’s day by providing such a simple service is a rare privilege. I love being out in the open. Every day is beautiful. When it rains it is awe inspiring. You are really part of the seasons but safe, dry and comforted by good company and delicious coffee. I couldn’t be happier doing something I love.”
Simple Bliss Coffee is located at 3 The Esplanade (on the deck) in Forest Lake and is open from Monday – Friday 6:30am – 1:00pm and Saturday – Sunday 7:30am – Midday.
